Microsoft wants to make its branded generative AI even more useful for teams, especially those in enterprises and large enterprise organizations.
This morning, Microsoft announced Team Copilot, the latest expansion of the Copilot family of generative AI technologies, at its annual Build Development Conference. Unlike Microsoft's previous Copilot-branded products, Team Copilot is less a point solution and more a set of features aimed at “improving collaboration” and “streamlining project management.”
“[Team] “Copilot enables teams to be more productive and creative by taking over time-consuming and costly administrative tasks,” Jared Spataro, CVP of AI at Microsoft, said in a blog post shared with TechCrunch. Masu.
Team Copilot integrates with Teams, Microsoft's video conferencing app, to help you manage meeting topics and take notes that all meeting participants can co-author. In the text chat, the team copilot summarizes the information (accurately if you're lucky) and answers any questions about what was discussed in the group.

Team Copilot extends beyond Teams to Loop and Planner, Microsoft's collaboration and planning platforms, to create and assign tasks, track deadlines, and notify team members when input is required. In Planner, Copilot can also break large work items into steps and provide answers to questions about task progress, priorities, stakeholder workloads, and more.
According to Microsoft, Team Copilot features will be available in preview later this year for customers with Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses starting at $30 per user per month.
