Google is turning Notebooklm, a popular AI-powered research and note taking assistant, into more destinations. On Monday, the company announced it will add a series of featured notebooks from a variety of authors, publications, researchers and nonprofits that will allow NoteBookLM users to explore a wide range of topics, from health and life advice to travel tips and financial analysis.
The first collection, including notebooks from the works of Economists, Atlantic, and even professors, writers, and even Shakespeare, is designed to provide users with working examples of how to use notebook lums to dig deeper into the subject of interest.
According to Google, NotebookLM users can read the original source material, but they can also ask questions, consider topics, and get answers with quotes. You can also listen to a pre-generated audio overview and use the app's Mind Map feature to browse the main theme of your notebook.
The new addition to NotebookLM is based on a recently launched feature that allows users to publish notebooks with others in the app. Since its debut last month, Google has said that over 140,000 public notes have been shared. The company plans to expand its own collection of noteworthy notebooks in the coming months. This will include more collections from partnerships with economists and Atlantic.
The Notebook's featured collection will be rolled out to notebooks on desktops starting today.
