Opera's in-browser AI product, Aria, can now summarize text-based web pages on Android. The AI-powered web page summarization tool quickly condenses news articles, blog posts, or research papers into short summaries that typically fit on his one screen.
The new feature, announced Monday, helps users quickly understand topics and pinpoint important details. To use it, visit any text-based web page, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the Opera Android browser, and select the “Summary” option next to the Aria icon. A chat with Aria will pop up and include the requested summary.
To access this feature, update to the latest version of Opera for Android and log in to your Opera account or sign up for a new account.
Aria was launched last year and works like any other AI search companion. The assistant has a chatbot-like interface that answers questions instead of searching the web for answers.
Opera has been building on Aria since launch and expanding its capabilities through the AI Feature Drops program, which gives users early access to additional AI features. Recently, Opera updated Aria with the ability to generate images using Google's Imagen2. You can also read out text answers.
