Twitter, formerly known as X, has announced that it is rolling out support for Passkey on Android. The release follows the social network's rollout of Passkey support to all iOS users in April.
Passkey Login makes it harder for bad actors to remotely access your account, because they would also need physical access to your phone. Unlike standard logins, Passkey uses Face ID or Touch ID, a PIN, or a physical security authentication key to verify your login.
Passkeys are a relatively new technology that eliminates the need to rely on username and password combinations, which can be prone to phishing and other problems.
X is one of many tech companies that have introduced support for passkeys over the past year or so. Other major companies that have introduced passkey support include Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, PayPal, TikTok, WhatsApp, and GitHub.
For X, adding support for passkeys could help users who previously relied on SMS 2FA, an option that X removed for free users last year.
To enable passkey on X, log in to the app and click[アカウント]Click[設定とプライバシー]Then,[セキュリティとアカウント アクセス]Click[セキュリティ]Click[追加のパスワード保護]Optional[パスキー]Select[パスキーの追加]Click the option and follow the prompts to enable the feature.
