It all started with sales. Cam Badger started his career in a pharmaceutical company. He expected structure and guidance on the job, but instead found “piecemeal training, inconsistent coaching, and no real way to scale learning in a meaningful way,” he told TechCrunch.
He worked as a sales representative for four years, then as a sales trainer, and then at a medical start-up, where he met Bhrugu Giri. The two lamented how abysmal the number of sales representatives at life sciences companies, including pharmaceutical companies and medical device startups. The two decided to solve this problem and launched PraxisPro, a sales coaching platform specifically aimed at the medical sector.
He believes that better salespeople will lead to more treatments in the hands of doctors, ultimately helping patients.
“When commercial interactions with healthcare providers are ineffective, patients are denied fair access to potentially meaningful and life-changing treatments,” said Badger, the company's CEO.
PraxisPro was launched in 2023, but the first product wasn't released until 2025. The company announced Wednesday a $6 million seed round led by AlleyCorp. Other investors in the round include FlyBridge, South Loop Ventures and Zeal Capital Partners.
PraxisPro is a standalone platform that can be integrated into enterprise software. Develop small language models trained on life sciences data to help companies navigate the nuances and context needed to interact with healthcare providers. From there, the company created an AI agent that allows commercial sales teams to practice communication skills before engaging with customers.
Badger said communication is key when selling medical products. Companies are responsible for ensuring their sales messages comply with legal frameworks, and so many teams are concerned about maintaining compliance. At PraxisPro, we not only want to help train your sales reps to stay compliant, but we also want to help them do a better job of communicating patient needs to healthcare providers.

Currently, salespeople may have 15 interactions with healthcare providers as part of the sales process. PraxisPro has conversational AI capabilities that allow sales reps to practice and plan these interactions, including any possible objections, and better prepare for what discussions typically entail.
While there are other AI role-playing tools (such as Quantified and SmartWinnr), Badger says his tool is different because his company is trained on small data sets and is specifically focused on the life sciences field. The new funding will be used for research and development, he said.
In many ways, this is the tool he wished he had years ago when he was still working as a sales representative. He said he struggled and almost lost his job, but he persevered and rose to become one of the company's top performers. Now he wants to reach out to others.
“If we can provide our commercial teams with the ability to prepare, practice and engage at a higher level with consistent accountability, we will not only improve our commercial operations, but also ensure that innovative treatments reach the patients who need them most,” he said.
