Cloud software giant Salesforce is hiring thousands of new salespeople to sell its AI tools to customers.
The company plans to hire 2,000 new salespeople, CNBC reported, citing CEO Marc Benioff at a company event on Tuesday. This doubles the hiring plan Benioff told Bloomberg last month. According to Benioff, Salesforce has already received 9,000 referrals for these 2,000 positions.
This upsizing comes just months before the company plans to release its second-generation AI agent software in February 2025.
Benioff recently said on TechCrunch's Equity podcast that he expects to have more than 1 billion agents running on Salesforce within the next 12 months. Regarding generative AI in general, Benioff added: “I've probably never been more excited about Salesforce in my entire career.”
