Android's notification drawer can be both useful and distracting due to the sheer number of notifications you receive. You need to better manage per-app notifications through settings or set up your system so you don't miss important updates. An app called Pinnit lets you use the notification history feature to see missed notifications and create custom notifications.
The app was created by an Android developer based in India Sashikant Milyanpalli and Brazilian-based designer Eduardo Platti. The app was first released in 2020, allowing users to pin tasks to their notification bar so they don't forget them.
Now the developers have come up with a redesigned version of Pinnit that has notification history as one of the app's main features. This allows you to see and search for all ignored notifications. Search also allows you to sort notifications by newest or oldest. Additionally, you can filter out notifications for specific apps to make them more visible. You can also check your notifications using the date picker.
“The original plan for the app was always to support notification history, but we weren't able to build it at the time. However, we've updated the app to accommodate this feature, along with a dynamic theme and new UI. We built a new version of , from scratch,” Miryanpalli told TechCrunch via email.

The vision behind this app was that people often miss important reminders and tasks amidst a flood of notifications.
Pinnit allows users to create persistent notifications from existing notifications without losing the original content. Similar to reminders, this app also allows you to create custom notifications in terms of title and description.

You can use it to pin missed calls or emails that you want to reply to later through a notification. You can also pin notifications for ongoing sports matches to track scores with just a tap. For now, custom notifications primarily function like to-dos, but developers want to do more in the future.
Milyanpalli said developers plan to add new features in the coming months, including location-based reminders, word filtering of notifications in privacy settings, app widgets, and support for large-screen devices.
After Pinnit's 14-day trial period, there is a one-time fee of $1.99.
