As the race of baked with AI features intensifies into productivity apps, Slack is using AI features to enhance searches in apps, adding Huddles transcriptions and summaries, and improving the way you can see channel and thread summaries.
With AI, Slack allows you to search across channels and search connected apps (such as Google Drive, Salesforce, teams) to represent related files and conversations. This feature is available for Slack's Business and Enterprise plans.

The company is also using AI to enhance Huddles. Huddles calls the company's voice and video chat features, features call transcription, overview, and the app automatically highlights key action items announced in the call.
And to help users keep up with the conversation, Slack will provide a summary of the message on a channel or thread if you are not present.
The company says it will roll out ways users can get a summary of other users' profiles, showing their roles and recent work. There is also a plan for the Activity tab that allows you to display action items when you are viewing messages that are referring to you.

Slack added that it is working on a feature that allows users to use AI to explain messages in the context of a specified conversation.

For Canvas, a collaborative panel that allows users to share guides, documents and information, we plan to add an AI-powered writing assistant that will help users create canvases from conversations and change the format of existing content.
