SNAP has obtained Saturn, a calendar app that helps students manage school schedules and share them with others. The financial conditions for the transaction have not been disclosed. Saturn will continue to work as a standalone app.

According to SNAP, the Saturn team is mostly participating in SNAP as part of the acquisition, with just under 30 full-time employees on board.
Snap didn't share much about its acquisition plans, but a spokesman for the company told TechCrunch via email that Snap would bring Snap's calendar expertise to Snapchat in an innovative way.
Founded in 2018, Saturn rethinks the calendar experience by bringing social elements. The idea behind a startup is to allow high school and college students to connect with their classmates and see which class their friends are in without having to share lots of photos from different schedules.

Users can share their schedules with friends to see what they are doing in real time and what they are doing to make plans. In addition to classes, users can share schedules such as practices, rehearsals, meetings, games, and more.
Snap says Saturn is used in many schools, with 80% of US high schools supporting Saturn. Snap believes that Saturn has built its success by turning scheduling into a more engaging and dynamic experience. The two companies will work together to promote more realistic connections, Snap says.
Forbes reported in 2021 that it raised $44 million in a funding round led by Saturn, Insight Partner, Court, and participation from the Bezos Expedition, Mark Benioff, Dara Koslowshahi, Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oceany sound ventures.
