Spotify is globally launching its Day List, a personalized playlist that evolves throughout the day based on a user's listening habits. This follows the company first introducing Day List to English-speaking markets last year. The playlist is available to both free and premium users.
The company also announced it will add support for 14 additional languages, including Arabic, Catalan, French (Canada), French (France), German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexico) and Turkish.
Spotify introduced Day Lists in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland in September 2023. The feature will be available in 65 more countries in March 2024, and the company has now launched the feature in all markets where Spotify is available.
Spotify said that after the March expansion, 70% of Daylist users accessed their playlists weekly, but it didn't say how many users overall are using the feature or how much music discovery it's driving.
Users can access the Day List in the “Made for You” section of the Spotify app or on the web via this link. The playlists and their titles are updated throughout the day, with some fun stuff like “Bedroom Pop Bangers Early Morning” and “90s Rave Rainforest Late Night.” At the time of launch, Spotify announced that it would use data on the “niche music and micro-genres” that users listen to at any given time to suggest tracks and update the Day List.
Users can also save a particular playlist they like by tapping on the three-dot menu, selecting the “Add to Playlist” option and tapping on “New Playlist” and then save that daylist to their library.
