Subscack continues to double the video amid Tiktok's uncertain future in the US. The company announced on Monday that it was rolling out scrollable video feeds to its app, making it the latest platform to introduce feeds like Tiktok.
Given the timing of the launch, Subrack may be aiming to take advantage of the potential voids Tiktok has left in the US if it faces a ban.
The move comes a month after Substack announced that creators could monetize videos on the platform and publish video posts directly from the Substack app.
Substack first launched native videos in 2022, and later introduced an in-app media tab in 2024. The tabs have been redesigned to a scrollable video feed that features short videos such as video posting video notes and clips. Substack will soon launch longform and podcast previews in the feed.

The company believes that the new feed will allow for better visibility and discovery for creators trying new formats, providing a better way for readers to come across new perspectives and voices beyond their inbox.
The new feed also allows subsack writers and creators to navigate beyond text-based newsletters to explore multimedia content.
As of February, 82% of the platform's top revenue writers were using multimedia. The company believes that new video feeds will be feeding this momentum, as creators can grow their audiences wherever they are public.
For example, creators who have a Substack Newsletter can also post short video content to Tiktok. Now they are encouraged to share the same short video content on Substack.
Using this new Tiktok-like feed, Subscack wants to meet the growing demand for fast, bite-sized content. Subscack has joined many other popular apps that launched their own short form video feed, including Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Netflix, and LinkedIn, following the rise in popularity of Tiktok.
