Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, the dynamic duo from the Grammy Award-winning music group The Chainsmokers, will be bringing their entrepreneurial expertise to TechCrunch Disrupt 2024.
Known for their chart-topping hits, Paul and Taggart have also expanded their influence into the venture capital world: In 2020, they founded Mantis Venture Capital, a firm with roughly $1 billion in assets under management that is focused on backing companies with a sustainable future.
At TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, Pall and Taggart will host a conversation titled “How Chainsmokers are Adding Value Beyond Celebrity Status,” joined by Dan Lorenc, co-founder and CEO of software supply chain security firm Chainguard. The session will explore how Mantis VC supports startups in sectors where celebrity influence is not the primary driver of success.
The discussion will delve into strategic approaches to investments and highlight the importance of adding real value to B2B startups.
The Chainsmokers have had various successful business ventures, including an investment in JAJA Tequila and the founding of the film and television production company Kick the Habit Productions. Their entrepreneurial spirit is also reflected in their philanthropic efforts, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they funded the production of N95 masks to help underprivileged children and received the Key of Hope Award from Youth Emerging Stronger.
