The Engineering Giant Smith Group, which is based in the UK, has confirmed cyber security cases, including “unauthorized access” to the system.
Companies listed in London, operated by multiple sector, including energy, security, aerospace, and defense, have “managed” the incident on Tuesday. The company stated that it was isolated, revitalized the business continuation plan, and implied destructive cases such as ransomware.
The company has not yet revealed the nature of the case, but said, “We have been working with cyber security experts to recover the affected systems and determine a wider impact on business.”
Smith, which employs more than 15,000 people in more than 50 countries, does not state when cyber attacks occur or whether data is extracted from that system.
Tom Steiner, Smith's spokesman, has refused to answer TechCrunch questions. The company said it would provide the latest information on the case “as needed.”
