Tiktok is introducing a new “security checkup” tool that allows users to quickly check and update security settings for their accounts from a single screen, the company announced Monday. This feature is similar to the security checkup tools provided by Tiktok Rival Instagram and Tech Giant Google.
Users can access the new tools from their profile by selecting “Settings & Privacy” and then tapping “Security & Permissions.”
Security checkups guide users through the security features of social networks. This tool encourages users to enable more security features to make their accounts safer.

Users can link their phone number and email address to the app to ensure they have a backup login method in case they lose access to their account. Users can also enable two-step verification when accessing their accounts from unfamiliar devices.
Additionally, security checkups emphasize the importance of checking which devices are logged in to your account and checking regularly to remove devices that are not used or that users are not aware of. The tool also suggests that users can enable device-based authentication methods like face ID and touch to achieve a secure, fast login experience.
Tiktok notes that it actively monitors abnormal behavior and flags it with a “security and permission” setting that allows users to review.
The launch of the new tool comes amid uncertainty about Tikk's fate in the United States, as President Donald Trump extended the deadline for the Tikk's ban by 75 days ago in January. Despite the uncertainty, the company is constantly updating its apps with new features such as new teen safety features, and updating desktop experiences designed to use YouTube.
