TikTok today announced that it is launching a new “Add to Music” feature in 163 countries that lets users add the song playing on a clip to services like Apple Music and Spotify.

TikTok first introduced the feature in the US and UK in November. A month later, the company expanded availability to 19 more countries, including Canada, Japan, and Germany. This feature allows users to add songs to Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify depending on availability in their region.
You'll see an Add Music button below the clip description and next to the track name. The first time you tap a button, you can select your music service of choice. Users can change their default services by accessing the Music menu in Settings.
If a user does not select a playlist to add songs from TikTok, they will be saved to a default list, like Spotify's Favorite Songs list.
Remarkably, Spotify recognizes that a large amount of music discovery happens on social platforms. So in addition to partnering with TikTok, it also integrates with BeReal, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter (now X), making it easy for users to add songs to Spotify.
Last year, ByteDance launched its music service TikTok Music in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and Indonesia. The company added that it is working on making the “Add to Music App” feature available to TikTok Music users soon.
