In a move reminiscent of Facebook's early days, Tiktok is launching a new feature that allows college students to find and connect with others on campus. This feature, known as Campus Verification, allows users to add university campuses to their Tiktok profiles and view a list of students at the school.
To access the feature, users go to their profile and[学校の追加]You need to tap the button. From there, they will need to enter the name of the school and then select the year of graduation.
To make sure they actually go to the school they went to, they will need to provide their academic email address. Once completed, the university's name and year of graduation will be displayed in your profile.
Users can then browse the school page, filter by year of graduation, and see all users who have added the school to their profile. You can also sort the user list to see the most followed users first.

This feature is available to more than 6,000 universities through a partnership between Tiktok and Unidays, a student verification platform that checks student status.
Tiktok says the idea behind this feature is to turn the platform into a hub that belongs to the real world connections and campus.
New features in Tiktok could be a welcome addition for college students who want to connect with others on campus. However, it also raises concerns about digital privacy as it may make it easier for users to track others online. Of course, this feature is optional, so those who want to keep the existence of Tiktok separate from the lives of their students can simply choose not to add the school to their profile.

It's worth noting that the launch was announced as Instagram was discovered by testing similar features last year, allowing users to view school information and graduation year in their profiles and connect with other students. It is unclear if the functionality has been removed or if the meta-owned platform is planned to be deployed.
