Caller Identity app TrueCaller said earlier this week it surpassed the 450 million user mark. The company said it has added 50 million users and 15.5 million users in the last 10 months since the beginning of 2025.
India is the company's largest user base. Therefore, it was not surprising that TrueCaller promoted Chief Product Officer and MD Rishit Jhunjhunwala to the position of CEO after TrueCaller last year's co-founder decided to step back from day to day operations.

Jhunjhunwala said India remains an important market for Truecaller, while it has grown in other regions as well.
“We are proud to serve more than 450 million users worldwide at the moment. As before, we continue to grow steadily in our biggest market, India, but the fastest relative growth is in markets other than India. So far, we are referring to Latin America, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, Malaysia and the United States.
The growth and position of Truecaller in India could be challenged as the country's communications sector is pushing mobile carriers to implement their own caller ID systems.
The company said it maintains an active user base of nearly 430 million users throughout the fourth quarter of 2024. The company produced positive results for the quarter that closes in December, with net sales rising 23% and taxes rising 29% year-on-year. The company's shares have grown by more than 33% since the beginning of the year at the time of writing.
Earlier this year, the company integrated caller ID products to work better on iOS. Until then, due to operating system-level restrictions from Apple, the Live Caller ID feature was not comparable to Android equivalents.
TrueCaller focuses on creating value beyond just caller IDs by introducing products such as call recording and transcription and an AI-powered assistant for call screening. I am trying to improve my experience as an SMS and chat client.
