President Donald Trump said the contract with the deadline by Tiktok's parent company to sell the app will be finalised before the April 5 deadline, Reuters reported.
“We have a lot of potential buyers,” Trump told reporters. “I have a great deal of interest in Tiktok. He added, “I want to see Tiktok live on.”
Trump extended the deadline for the ban on Tiktoc to April 5 on January 5, and signed an executive order on his first day in office.
Reuters reported Friday that private equity firm Blackstone is pondering small stakes in Tiktok's US business. The company is considering joining the current non-Chinese shareholders of Baitedan, led by Susquehanna International Group and the Atlantic General, providing fresh capital to bid on Tiktok's US operations. The group has emerged as front runners in Tiktok's trading talk.
Trump previously said he is open to extending the deadline once more if the deal is not reached.
