As it gears up for the summer travel season, Uber on Tuesday unveiled a new feature that streamlines the planning process for riders, giving users a convenient way to search for destinations in another city and book a ride in advance before their plane even touches down.
Uber's new feature is aimed at catering to a surge in summer travel and making it easier for travelers to arrange transportation before they arrive. Airlines for America predicts that about 271 million passengers will fly worldwide from June through August, up sharply from the 255 million that flew last summer. The company said the feature has long been a popular request among passengers.

While planning a trip, users can now select the “Search in another city” option and enter their desired destination. The most useful part of this feature is the booking feature, which allows travelers to book a pick-up time from where they are traveling later that day or 90 days from now. Additionally, Uber provides estimated wait times and fares for trips from local airports and various cities.
This new feature is available in over 10,000 cities, including Athens, Buenos Aires, Dublin, Florence, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Santo Domingo, Sydney, Tokyo and Vancouver.
Uber launched the feature today along with a number of other features, including a partnership with Flying Blue to allow members to earn miles, additional bookings for its “Uber Bubbles” product that allows tourists in Paris to book a Champagne tour, and a free one-hour cruise experience on the Pont Marie.
