AI-powered video editing app Captions is rolling out new tools for websites to manage video content publishing schedules and generate videos for that date based on topics related to the site.

The tool first scans your site, extracts your site's content, keywords, offerings, and key selling points to create a content plan. At the moment, their social media strategy is primarily focused on video formats Instagram Reels and TikTok, which is not surprising given that Captions specializes in video creation and editing. The company said it would consider other formats in the future.

The company believes the tool could be useful for small cafes to spotlight chefs and culinary items, or for dental clinics to generate videos about the services they offer. AI-powered social media managers also take into account relevant seasonal trends.

In June, the company launched a feature that automatically creates and edits videos based on prompts from 12 AI characters. The new tool uses your site's content and related trends as a place to create prompts and then create videos based on them. Since this is a business tool, sellers can upload their profile to create a digital twin and have the AI tool create a video through that character. Additionally, you can apply brand identity to your videos, including custom colors, logos, and fonts.

When we asked Gaurav Misra, CEO of Captions, about how AI-generated videos are taking credibility away from creators striving to create content for their businesses, he explained that the tool provides high-quality You said you're helping people who don't have the means to create content themselves. .

“In this use case, I don't think these companies are trying to go viral. They want to have a presence online, and they want to create something that people can understand about their business. I think that's what we want people to accomplish here,” he said.

Misra added that business owners already have many tasks on their plate, but with this new AI social media manager, there is no need to learn video recording and editing from scratch to create content.

Captions also said that in the future, companies will be able to add more pages of their own outside of their website, and AI will be able to create better content plans.

In July, Captions raised $60 million in Series C funding from Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and new investors Adobe Ventures, HubSpot Ventures, and Jared Leto. The company plans to use the funds to develop its own AI capabilities.

“We're three and a half years old and we've raised a total of $100 million. We're cash flow neutral. Our goal with the capital is to really invest in the AI side of things. Because I think the opportunity is huge,” Misra said.

“Everything that you can capture with a camera today will be able to be created through AI in a few years, and ultimately with increased fidelity. Our goal is to create a world where you don't have to physically record or edit video to get what you want to share.”

The company is offering this feature to users on its $25/month Max and $70/month paid plans.
