WeTransfer will add a new feature that will allow users to sell files directly on the platform, the company announced on Tuesday.

According to one study, 87% of content creators report late or missed payments. This new feature will allow photographers, designers, illustrators, and other creators to start making money right away without having to spend time chasing down invoices for payment. Additionally, creators don't have to deal with the additional costs of a website or storefront to sell.

WeTransfer's integrated payments are powered by Stripe and are being rolled out to all users globally.

The company says there will be no additional costs to subscribers beyond the standard payment processing fees from Stripe. Users who are not on WeTransfer's paid plans can access integrated payments without any additional platform fees until the end of June. This feature supports over 100 currencies based on the user's settings during onboarding with Stripe.

Creators can set prices in the new “Payment Request” section when uploading files and creating folders. Once you set your price, you can send the WeTransfer link to your client or buyer. The person receiving the link must pay before downloading the file.

“Millions of creators already use our platform every day to interact with clients and fans and share important work, but they wait until long after the work is completed to pursue final payment. Too often, we stumble,” WeTransfer CEO Alexander Vasilev said in an emailed statement. “Introducing payments into our product ecosystem is a major new move in our mission to increase convenience and revenue potential for our creative user base while removing common barriers through secure, beautiful and simple technology. Chapter.

This integration supports translation for all languages supported by WeTransfer, including Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, and Turkish. Masu.
