WhatsApp is introducing a new way for people to host events in their communities, the company announced Wednesday. This feature makes it easy to plan gatherings and events directly on WhatsApp, such as setting up a PTA meeting or birthday dinner.
Anyone can create an event that others can respond to, so other members in the group can see who is planning to attend. Users can find the event on the group's information page, and those who attend the event will receive notifications as the event date approaches.
This new feature will first be available to groups in your community and will roll out to all groups in the coming months.

WhatsApp has also added the ability for users to reply to messages in announcement groups. Announcement groups allow community administrators to send updates to all members of the community. Replies are grouped so you can see what others are saying, but users don't receive notifications of replies. The purpose of this feature is to keep announcement groups organized and organized while allowing admins to hear from members.
WhatsApp launched Communities in November 2022 as a way for neighborhoods, school associations, hobbyists and more to keep their groups connected by allowing admins to combine up to 50 groups. The company says it will continue to roll out new features to communities and groups over the coming months.
