Google's AI Note Take and Research Assistant NoteBookLM allows users to customize the audio overview tone. This is an AI virtual host podcast that summarises and discusses documents shared with NoteBookLM, such as course readings and legal briefs.
When generating an audio overview, users can now choose whether to format the AI podcast as “deep diving”, “brief”, “criticism”, or “debate”.
Deep Diving features conversational dialogue in which two AI hosts unpack topics with depth and questions. What's simple is a bite-sized overview designed to quickly grasp core ideas from the source.
The critique features reviews of your sources and constructive feedback that help you improve, but the discussion includes two AI hosts who provide a different perspective to your sources.

Each different format allows you to customize the length or short term of your AI podcast.
In addition to customizable tones, Google brings much-required functionality to NotebookLM. This has added new voices for the AI podcast.
It will be released when Google has been building Notebooklm over the past few months. A few weeks ago, the Tech giant unveiled a video overview. This allows users to turn dense multimedia such as Raw Notes, PDFs, and images into digestible visual presentations.

Notebooklm has recently gained access to a range of featured notebooks from a variety of authors, publications, researchers and nonprofit organizations, allowing users to explore a wide range of topics. And in May, Google officially deployed the standalone notebook bulk app for Android and iOS.
The new format for NotebookLM is launched in all languages and should be available to all users this week, Google says.
